Your voice stays home.

Morning Vow is a local-first app. There are no accounts, and we run no server for the app. Speech recognition happens on your iPhone. Your voice and your affirmations never leave the phone. The only data the app sends is anonymous: usage and crash analytics, and the check that your subscription is active. The only personal information we ever hold is your email address — and only if you choose to give it to us.

Everything that matters. Your affirmations, your alarms, your streak, and your settings are stored on your device. When you speak to answer an alarm, your speech is recognized on-device using Apple’s speech frameworks — audio is not sent to us or to any third party by the app, and we never store or transmit recordings or transcripts of what you say. The text of your affirmations is never included in any log, analytics event, or network payload.

A wake voice — a recording you or someone you trust makes as the alarm’s first sound — is the one recording the app keeps. It stays on your phone: it is kept out of iCloud and computer backups, it is never part of any analytics event, and the app has no way to send it anywhere. Deleting the recording, the alarm, or the app deletes it.

Anonymous usage and crash analytics. Usage events go to PostHog, an analytics service; crash reports go to Sentry, a crash-reporting service. These events describe app behavior — for example, that an alarm fired, that a screen was opened, or that the app crashed — so we can find and fix problems. They are not tied to your name, email, or any account (there are no accounts), and they never contain audio, transcripts, or affirmation text. You can switch them off at any time: in the app, Settings → Privacy → “Share anonymous usage and crash statistics”. Nothing you pay for depends on it.

We do not run ads, we do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers.

Morning Vow has no sign-up, no login, and no cloud backend of ours. We cannot read your data because it never reaches us.

If you join the list on this site, we store your email address and the day you joined — nothing else — in our own database at Amazon Web Services, which also hosts this site. We use the address only to tell you when Morning Vow ships and to send you updates about it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing stops the emails at once. Joining the list is entirely separate from the app — the app itself never asks for or handles your email address.

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us aggregate, anonymized sales reporting.

The app checks whether your subscription is active through RevenueCat, a subscription service. That check carries the purchase and an anonymous identifier the app generates — never your name, your voice, or your affirmations.

Four services handle data on our behalf: PostHog (anonymous usage analytics), Sentry (anonymous crash reports), RevenueCat (the subscription check) and Amazon Web Services (hosts this site and holds the email list, only if you join it). Each one is required to give your data the same protection this policy promises, or better.

• On your phone: your affirmations, alarms, streak and settings stay on your iPhone until you delete them or delete the app. Deleting Morning Vow deletes all of it from the phone. We hold no copy.
• Anonymous analytics and crash reports: PostHog and Sentry keep them only for their standard retention period, then delete them. We never extend it. These events carry no name, no email and no account, so we cannot pick one person’s events out — to show them or to delete them. Switching them off in Settings, or deleting the app, stops them.
• The subscription check: RevenueCat keeps the purchase record and the app’s anonymous identifier only for its standard retention period. Apple keeps your purchase history under Apple’s own privacy policy.
• The email list: your address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
• Permissions: you can take back the microphone or the alarm permission at any time in iPhone Settings.

To ask for deletion, write to support@morningvow.com. We will delete your email address from the list, and anything else we hold that can be tied to you. The anonymous data cannot be tied to you — that is what anonymous means here.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be noted in plain language at the top.
